OTR, RV & Heavy-Duty Bypass Oil Filter Kits

Shop our progressive 1 micron bypass oil filter kits for OTR trucks, RVs, motorhomes, commercial equipment, generators, agricultural equipment, construction equipment, and other large oil-capacity engines. These kits are designed for heavy-use applications where cleaner oil, easier monitoring, and long-term engine protection matter.

Most large-engine applications use our higher-capacity Extreme3 or Extreme4 bypass filtration platforms. If you are unsure which setup fits your engine, contact us and we can help confirm the correct kit or custom build path.

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes. This collection is built for OTR trucks, semi trucks, and other large oil-capacity diesel engines that may need a higher-capacity bypass oil filtration setup than a standard pickup-truck application.

Yes. Many RVs and motorhomes use large diesel engines with higher oil capacities, making them a good fit for heavy-duty bypass oil filtration. Fitment depends on the engine, available mounting space, pressure source, return location, and hose routing. We can help you put together a kit for your motorhome or RV.

A properly installed bypass oil filter system is designed to filter a controlled side stream of oil without starving the engine of oil pressure. Correct installation, fitting selection, hose routing, and pressure/return locations are important for proper system performance.

Many large engines used in generators, agriculture, construction, commercial, and industrial equipment can use a bypass oil filter system. Because these applications vary widely, we recommend confirming the engine make, model, oil capacity, and installation layout before ordering.

OTR and heavy-duty bypass oil filter kits are designed for larger oil-capacity engines than most pickup-truck applications. This collection focuses on our Extreme3 and Extreme4 platforms:

• Extreme3 is generally used for diesel engines with approximately 16–32 quarts of oil capacity

• Extreme4 is generally used for diesel engines with approximately 32–64 quarts of oil capacity.

Because OTR trucks, RVs, motorhomes, generators, agricultural equipment, construction equipment, and large commercial engines can vary widely, these applications may also require different mounting locations, longer hose routing, and different pressure-port or return-port solutions than a typical pickup-truck kit.

Helpful information includes the engine make and model, vehicle or equipment type, model year if applicable, engine serial number if available, approximate oil capacity, photos of the engine bay or mounting area, and any known pressure or return-port locations.

Some applications may have a more complete kit path, while others (like our "Universal Base Kits" may require custom fitting selection or additional installation parts. Heavy-duty engines vary by layout, so pressure-port fittings, return-port fittings, mounting location, and hose routing may need to be confirmed before installation.

• Standard filter element change interval is every 15K miles for diesel and gas engines.

• After oil analysis shows that your oil is coming out healthy and clean, you can extend the element change interval to 25K and even up to 50K – extending all change intervals requires condition based monitoring with oil analysis.

Yes, oil analysis is strongly recommended for large oil-capacity engines and heavy-use applications. It helps monitor oil condition, contamination, wear metals, and maintenance trends so you can make better decisions instead of guessing.

The Universal Base Kit is the starting point for a custom bypass oil filter installation. It includes the core bypass filtration parts, such as the filter housing, filter element, mounting bracket/hardware, hose, and the in/out fittings for the filter housing.

This option is not a fully vehicle-specific kit. Depending on your engine or equipment, you may still need to determine the correct oil pressure source, oil return location, pressure-port fitting, return-port fitting, hose routing, and mounting location. Many OTR, RV, motorhome, generator, agricultural, construction, and commercial engines vary by layout, so the Universal Base Kit is best for custom builds or applications where a complete prebuilt kit is not already available.

If you are not sure which parts you need, contact us with your engine make/model, vehicle or equipment type, oil capacity, and photos of the engine area so we can help recommend the correct setup.
