How to take an oil sample
- We recommend you start with a high quality oil and run oil analysis every 7,500 miles
- Run engine for 3-6 minutes to agitate the oil
- For best results catch oil sample midstream from the oil drain plug
- Seal the sample bottle
- Fill out the analysis form, peel it off and stick it to the clear bottle containing the sample
- Place the clear sample bottle in the white Gearhead container bottle and seal the cap
- Seal the containers in the pre-paid USPS pouch and drop sample off at USPS Post Office
(Work with Gearhead Labs to discuss engine-specific condition-based monitoring to extend oil change intervals and filter element change intervals)
Results take 1.5 weeks from the moment USPS receives the package.

Spend $350+ and we'll cover the shipping fee for you. Not valid with engine oil products or 5-gallon pails of Lorenzo's fuel additive. A tracking number is always provided for every order.

RETURN POLICIES
GENERAL RETURN POLICY:
Please review the installation guide or video before purchasing, and confirm the pressure and return port locations for your engine. We're happy to provide guidance if needed. Returns are not accepted for buyer’s remorse or if the kit doesn’t match your engine model, so please double-check compatibility before ordering. If you encounter any issues, contact us — we’re committed to finding a solution.
DAMAGED PRODUCT RETURNS:
All products are inspected before shipping. If your product arrives damaged, please report it with photos within 7 business days of delivery. Only unused, damaged items in their original condition are eligible for replacement or refund. If a product is confirmed to be defective or damaged, you can choose between a replacement or full refund after inspection.
OTHER REFUND POLICIES:
In rare cases where a product qualifies for a return (outside of damage on arrival and within 30 days of delivery), a refund will be issued minus return shipping costs and the Shopify transaction fee (2.4%-2.5% + 30¢). Although we offer free shipping, the original shipping cost will also be deducted from your refund.
